EIACP ENVIS Centre on Environmental Biotechnology
ENVIS RESOURCE PARTNER now renamed as Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Programme (EIACP) on Environmental Biotechnology earlier situated in Department of Environmenal Science, now the centre shifted to S.N.Bose Innovation Building, University of Kalyani.
ENVIS Centre on Environmental Biotechnology in The University of Kalyani, Nadia, is funded by the Ministry of Environmental, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India is meeting the task of disseminating information on various Environment related subject area. But with the emergence of the new field viz., ‘Environmental Biotechnology’ which plays a paramount role in environmental management has not been covered in the network.
With the emphasis on the management of natural resources and abatement of pollution as well as hazardous waste management, it is therefore proposed to set up an ENVIS Centre on ‘Environmental Biotechnology’. Major emphasis of databank will focus on ‘Pollutant Biodegradation’ and its allied aspect.
